HAMMOND SCHOOL




The North Lake School District (also known as the Hammond School) was established in 1912. Mr. Charles Hammond was involved in having a school district formed near his home near Nice. The school was held in a residence on the Johnson place, one room of which was converted into a schoolroom. In 1920 the district consolidated with the Upper Lake Grammar School District.

It was located between what is now Nice and Upper Lake
